Ást Atelier Opens in Adelaide Arcade
Adelaide Arcade is delighted to welcome Ást Atelier to Shop 146, bringing independent design, slow fashion and creative energy to our growing community of makers and artisans.
Founded by Danish-born fashion designer Julie Thornberg-Thorsøe and local creative Kaurna Cronin, Ást Atelier is more than a boutique — it is an artistic sanctuary dedicated to craftsmanship, creativity and conscious living
The name Ást comes from the Nordic word for love — a devotion to craft, longevity and the pieces we choose to keep. This philosophy is woven through every element of the space, from the carefully curated collections to the workshops designed to share skills and inspire connection.
A Curated Space for Makers & Modern Living
Located upstairs next to Two-Bit Villains, Ást Atelier offers a thoughtfully selected range of:
-
Ceramics and glass
-
Apparel and contemporary slow fashion
-
Literature and art objects
-
The JUTHO fashion collection
-
Tailoring services, including bespoke alterations, repairs and creative renewal
With a focus on sustainability and craftsmanship, the atelier champions mindful consumption and the art of repair — celebrating pieces made to last.
Workshops & Creative Community
Ást Atelier is also a space for learning and connection. Monthly workshops will explore sewing, visible mending, fashion design and makers’ skills, while Friday evening ‘maker meets’ and repair socials will foster collaboration between artists and the community.
This new addition further strengthens Adelaide Arcade’s reputation as a destination for independent retailers and creative entrepreneurs, supported through our continued partnership with Renew Adelaide.
We invite you to visit Ást Atelier in Shop 146 and discover a space devoted to craft, creativity and thoughtful design.
