Have You Met Charlie?

Have You Met Charlie? started as a humble pop-up shop in Charles Street Plaza in May 2014 (now you know where we got ‘Charlie’ from!). We would have been called dreamers if we dared to think that this pop-up would continue past it’s ‘pack-up shop’ date.

A short time after Charlie’s little stint in Charles Street Plaza, Charlie made the trip across Rundle Mall to it’s new, more spacious home in Regent Arcade where Charlie stayed for 6 years.

From there Have You Met Charlie? has continued to thrive and grow into the well established gift shop that we are today.

In July 2020, Have You Met Charlie? set up our second shop in our first seaside location in sunny Brighton, South Australia. Recently, Have You Met Charlie? made the trip down the mall to the charming Adelaide Arcade. What’s not to love about working across from Haighs – the best chocolate shop in the world!

In January 2021, our city store relaxed the for wonderful and beautiful Adelaide Arcade, into our dream location. You will now find our city store here in Shop 12, Adelaide Arcade.

Since launching, Charlie’s founder, Lauren Harper, has been focused on stocking amazing items that appeal to people from all walks of life.

Our team is committed to providing a platform for independent artists to really thrive in a retail environment and offering a unique shopping experience for consumers who are conscious about supporting small businesses.

Although we have a focus on stocking South Australian artists and makers, with around 50% of our products being SA made, we also stock fun, quirky and unusual products from interstate as well as from around the globe.
