Join us for Iconic & Local, a one-day celebration of South Australia’s talent and creativity, held in the heart of Adelaide Arcade as part of Brand SA’s Buy SA Week (28 July – 3 August). This special event also marks 140 years of Adelaide Arcade – a beloved icon since 1885.

With over 90% of our traders being South Australian-owned, this event is your invitation to meet the makers, discover local stories, and support our state’s thriving community of creatives and retailers.

What’s On:

Pink Shorts Press – Open Day

Pink Shorts Press is holding an open day (10 am – 4 pm), where readers and writers can drop in to chat to a publisher, browse new-release books and take in Yarns, a SALA exhibition of weavings by Helen Bennetts and Cathy Charnock. Author Oliva De Zilva (Plastic Budgie) will also host a curated reading event, At Our Mothers’ Table, featuring Asian diasporic writers (1–2pm, bookings essential via pinkshortspress.com.au).

Creative Workshops & Demos

• Dulcie’s (Shop 31) – Sewing and embroidery demos by volunteers creating garments from fabric scraps.

• Pencraft (11am – 2pm) – Write with Robert Oster Ink on custom postcards designed by Debby Haskard-Strauss.
